The last month at Geotech has certainly been a busy one, with lots of activity. Our Managing Director Bruce Waddington, and our National Business Development Manager Jeff Vassel attended and exhibited at the QSR Media Conference and Awards in Sydney, which as always was a fantastic event. There was a great line up of speakers and presenters, with one of the key take outs being that delivery is here to stay and that the pace of change in the delivery space is at the forefront of network planning discussions.
In June our Director of Operations Vanessa Wilmot was invited to be a speaker at the 2019 BDA Franchise Finance Australia WA State Franchising Conference in Perth. As part of the conference, Vanessa ran a workshop on big data and predictive analytics, and how it drives sales and demand for products and services. It was a great conference put on by Mark Fernandez and the BDA team, with a diverse range of speakers and topics.
In May, Vanessa was also lucky enough to have the privilege of being the MC and running a Q & A session with Melanie Gleeson, CEO and Founder of endota spa, as part of the Victorian Women in Franchising networking event sponsored by Geotech. There were many key take outs from the session with Melanie, including following your intuition (even in the face of setbacks), getting rid of the guilt (especially for working parents), and reference to "cramming it in" instead of work/life balance, and most importantly making sure that you take the time to take care of yourself.
