Mapping System

Even the largest organisations have been ‘stung’ trying to establish in-house GIS and mapping capabilities.  Not only is the software that is required for this type of activity exceedingly expensive, it is also very specialist and requires highly trained GIS professionals to run it.  In addition, the mapping software is only the beginning.  One of the most costly parts of setting up such a system is obtaining and updating the data that sits within it.  It is for this reason that more and more large organisations choose to outsource their GIS and mapping capabilities.

While Geotech is the first to warn of the implications of going toward ‘in-house’ GIS, we also acknowledge that many organisations benefit from having access to strategic maps and data from an electronic environment (such as server or laptop), allowing for a degree of in-house analysis to take place.  It is for this reason that Geotech has developed a low cost and easy to use mapping interface we call Net Tracker.

Nettracker uses an Adobe Acrobat PDF engine to drive access to GIS reports and maps.  This means no requirement for the purchase of expensive mapping software.  Users only need an Acrobat PDF reader installed on their machine to use the system.  Mainstream mapping utility is not diminished with this system however, as the system supports full map zooming and print requirements, as well as complex security access set ups if required.

Our Net Tracker solution can be used to deliver results for all different types of mapping projects, large or small.
